JMET 2011 Results

A total of 5451 candidates qualified in the prestigious Joint Management Entrance Test (JMET 2011) with Vernon Desouza from Bangalore Zone topping the test. The results are announced on 3 January 2011. The qualified candidates will be eligible to seek admission into the post-graduate management programmes in IITs and IISc Bangalore. A total of 26,035 candidates had appeared in JMET 2011 held on December 12, 2010 organized by IIT Delhi in coordination with the six other IITs and IISc Bangalore.
The 3 hour test was conducted in seven zones, 69 centers and 35 cities across the country. The IIT Delhi zone topped among the other zones with 1331 candidates figuring in the list of qualified candidates, followed by IIT Bombay (1304), IISc Bangalore (984), IIT Kharagpur (588), IIT Madras (582), IIT Roorkee (435), IIT Kanpur (192) and IIT Guwahati (35).
Out of 5197 female candidates who appeared in the test, 927 qualified. Ratika Anand emerged as the topper among the female candidates with an All India Rank of 27.
This year, 610 OBC candidates qualified in the test, while 447 SCs, 62 STs and 25 physically challenged candidates qualified in the test.
The Master’s program in Management is offered by IITs in Chennai, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Mumbai and Roorkee. This year IISc Bangalore is also joining the league of IITs in starting a Master’s program in Management.
The qualified candidates need to apply separately to each of the schools or departments of management in various IITs and IISc wherein she/he wishes to seek admission. Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI) for candidates seeking admission will be held at the respective Institutes.

JMET 2011 ONLINE Payments

Detailed information on terms and conditions and privacy policy are provided in this document. Before making the ONLINE application fee payment, please go through it carefully.

1. Definitions

a) Applicant: A person intending to register ONLINE for JMET 2011.

b) Rules, Regulations and Procedures: The rules and regulations relevant to JMET 2011.

c) Fees: The application fee for JMET 2011.

d) JMET 2011: A national level entrance test for admission to management schools at different IITs, organized by GATE, IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016.

2. Qualification

It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the applicant is actually eligible for appearing in JMET 2011 which can be ascertained by carefully reading the instructions/ eligibility criteria. The ONLINE application system does not perform any check on the qualification indicated by the applicant during the application process. Therefore, successful completion of ONLINE application process does not in itself indicate that the applicant is qualified for JMET 2011.

3. Fees and payment

a) It is the Applicant’s responsibility to ensure he/she pays the application fees as applicable.

b) The payment of any sums intended to be made in respect of Fees by or on behalf of the applicant does not in itself indicate the acceptance of applicant’s candidature for appearing in JMET 2011.

c) When the applicant successfully completes the online payment transaction using credit/debit cards option, funds will be deducted from the credit/debit card mentioned by the applicant and the payments will be credited to GATE, IIT Delhi. This payment is towards the services and conduct of JMET 2011.

d) Any payment received through this website will be treated as having been made by the applicant even though the same may have been made by some other person/ party and hence GATE, IIT Delhi shall not entertain any correspondence from any person other than the applicant.

e) Confirmation:

* If the applicant’s online payment is successful, GATE, IIT Delhi will confirm the same.
* In case of unsuccessful online payment, GATE, IIT Delhi will advise the applicant accordingly. The applicant should then contact the credit/debit card provider for details.
* GATE, IIT Delhi will send the confirmation by email. Therefore, the applicant must have a valid and active e-mail address.

4. Refund Policy

a) Once a candidate has paid the application fee for JMET 2011 no refund will be made by GATE, IIT Delhi.

b) GATE, IIT Delhi will not entertain any request for fee refund under any circumstances, including when the application is rejected.

5. Failure to pay the fees

In case the applicant registers successfully but fails to pay the required fee on or before the stipulated date, his/her application will stand cancelled without any further notification.

6. Security

a) Credit/debit card payments are secure:

* For keeping your credit/debit card details secure, payments will be processed directly by ICICI Bank using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
* Credit/debit card numbers are protected with a high level of encryption when transmitted over the Internet. The site is secure using 128 bit encryption to offer secure communications by encrypting all data to and from the site of ICICI Bank.


b) GATE, IIT Delhi shall not be liable for any failure on the part of the Applicant or third party making payment of Fees, to properly protect data from being seen on their screen by other persons or otherwise obtained by such other persons, during the Online Payment process or in respect of any omission to provide accurate information in the course of the Online Payment process.

7. Data Protection

GATE, IIT Delhi will be entitled to use the information given during the Online Payment process for the purpose of registration of the applicant as also for statistical purposes.

8. Delivery policy:

On successful completion of the ONLINE application process, a PDF file of the completed application will be generated. Print/save this file for your record.

JMET 2011 Results and Score

JMET results
JMET 2011 results will be announced on January 3, 2011 at 1000 hours at GATE offices of IISc/IITs. It will also be available on the websites of IISc/IITs. The JMET 2011 website will provide the JMET scores both to the qualified and to the non-qualified candidates.

JMET 2011 score is valid for one year from the date of announcement of the results.

The JMET results of the qualified candidates will be made available to interested organizations (educational institutions, R & D laboratories, industries, etc.) in India and abroad based on a written request by the organization and on payment. Details can be obtained from the Organising Chairman, JMET 2011.

JMET scorecard
Scorecard will be sent only to the qualified candidates. No information will be sent to the candidates who do not qualify.

The scorecard will indicate All India Rank, total marks obtained out of 120 marks and the marks obtained in each of the four sections viz. Verbal communication, Logical reasoning, Quantitative ability and Data interpretation. The score card will also contain the qualifying marks for each of the three categories (GE, OBC and SC/ST/PD).

The question paper contains 120 one-mark questions. Your scores will be calculated for each section based on the number of questions you answered correctly, incorrectly, or omitted. Each correct answer carries one mark and each wrong answer carries negative 0.25 marks. No marks will be given for questions that are not answered.

The machine-gradable Optical Response Sheets (ORS) are graded and scrutinized with extreme care. There is no provision for regrading and retotalling. No photocopies of the machine-gradable Optical Response Sheets (ORS) will be made available. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

What is to be sent by post

1. If you have submitted the ONLINE application successfully, including your photo, signature and category certificate (where applicable), then you do not need to send anything by post.

2. If the uploaded photo, signature and category certificate (where applicable) are not clear and improper, then take a printout of the PDF application form. Paste a good quality passport size photograph at the appropriate place and sign the application form at the specified place. Send the application form along with a self attested copy of the category certificate (where applicable) by speed post so as to reach "The Chairman, GATE, IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016" on or before October 15, 2010. Applications received after this date will be rejected without further intimation



Important Note: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories who do not upload the respective category certificate will be treated as general category candidates.

JMET 2011 Application Form has to be submitted ONLINE only. The application fee is Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs. 750/- for all other candidates. ONLINE submission of application can be done by accessing the JMET 2011 website of any of the IITs or IISc by following the steps given below:

1. Before you start applying online, make sure that you have digital images of your photo and signature in .jpg format that are less than 150 Kb in size. During the application process, you need to upload both the photo and the signature through the JMET 2011 website. The size of the photo and signature should be as specified below:

Photo image size = width x height = 4 cm x 5 cm (resolution = 200 dpi)
Signature image size = width x height = 5 cm x 1 cm (resolution = 200 dpi)

If the face is difficult to identify in your photo, the application form will be rejected.

2. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD categories should have a PDF file of their respective category certificate which needs to be uploaded during the ONLINE application process. Applicants belonging to OBC(non-creamy layer) do not have to upload the category certificate since their application fee is same as the general category students.

3. Access the JMET 2011 website and click ONLINE application submission link to register as a user. If already registered, then sign-in at the website and complete the ONLINE application form.

4. After filling up the ONLINE application form including the uploading of your photo, signature and category certificate (if applicatble), you may proceed to make the fee payment. The application fee is Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PD candidates and Rs. 750/- for all other candidates. The application fee is non-refundable.

5. There are two modes of fee payment. You may choose any of the following options:

* Credit / Debit Cards

In case the applicant registers successfully but fails to pay the required fee on or before the last date for ONLINE application submission, his/her application will stand cancelled without any further intimation.


6. If you have submitted the ONLINE application successfully, a PDF file of your application will be generated which you may keep for your record. In the generated PDF file, if your photo and signature are clear and proper, and your category cerficate is uploaded, then you DO NOT need to send anything by post.

NOTE:

1. Incomplete Application Forms will be rejected without further information to the candidate.
2. GATE Office, IIT Delhi will post the JMET 2011 Admit Card by speed post to the address given in the application form by 12th November, 2010
3. Check your application status at the "app_status" tab of the web site.
4. If you do not receive your admit card by 1st December, 2010, you should contact the GATE Office, IIT Delhi or visit the JMET 2011 website to know the Registration Number and the address of the test centre.
5. You are advised to apply ONLINE well in advance of the last date for submission (08 Oct. 2010) to avoid any problems due to reduced access speeds because of bandwidth overloads especially close to the submission date.
